I’ve been married for 20 years to Julie (Trask) Feirer, and our daughter, Mara, is a student at Winterset High School.
Originally from Wisconsin, I’ve now been an Iowan since college. I’m a 1991 graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, with a Masters degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
I was the high school band teacher in Winterset from 1999 to 2010.
I own a business, Group Dynamic. As such, I am an advisor, consultant and trainer to businesses and non-profits. I specialize in helping teams work better together. As a part of that, I’ve worked with government entities at all levels, and even parts of the Iowa State Association of Counties.
I’m a member of West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce since 2011, so I’m very aware of the growth coming our way.
I am active in Madison County.
I’m a past co-chair of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce board of directors and a former Chamber Ambassador.
You may have seen me on stage as the emcee for the annal Winterset Lions Show, moderator of the 2018 Community Legislative Forums for the Chamber, Master of Ceremonies for the Winterset School District’s Fall Fling, and an emcee on the Penrod Stage during the Covered Bridge Festival.
I’m a member of the Winterset Community Educational Foundation.
I participated with my family in the city’s Winterset Japanese Friendship Exchange Program.
I’m on the board of directors of the Winterset Art Center.
For several years I’ve been a presenter for the Madison County Leadership Institute.
I’ve been active at St Paul Lutheran Church in many roles, such as Sunday School teacher, youth music director, co-director of Christmas program, stewardship drive chair, and current capital campaign committee member.
